Amanda DeJesus is a Houston based chef and graduate from The International Culinary Schools at the Art Institute of Houston, Texas. She is currently working on a heart healthy cookbook. Amanda is a heart transplant recipient and patient of Memorial Hermann Hospital. Amanda’s goals are to use her creative talents, training and devotion to living a healthy life and incorporate her passion of food and nutrition to enhance her life and the life of other heart patients.

Amanda has also represented Team Texas in the Transplant Games of America. This is a competition for those who have donated and received transplant organs. This competition is just one way to say thank you to those who have donated and to inspire those transplant recipients to live healthy. It is also a great way for those transplant recipients to foster relationships with others that have received transplants.

Amanda is a volunteer and ambassador for the American Heart Association. She had the honor of being one of the 2017 National Go Red Spokeswomen for the Go Red for Women campaign. Amanda also volunteers with Houston based LifeGift and Donate Life America.
