Amanda DeJesus is a local chef and graduate from The International Culinary Schools at the Art Institute of Houston, Texas. She is currently working on a heart healthy cookbook. Amanda is a heart transplant recipient and patient of St. Lukes Hospital. Amanda’s goals are to use her creative talents, training and devotion to living a healthy life and incorporate her passion of food and nutrition to enhance her life and the life of other heart patients.
Amanda has also been selected to represent Texas in the Transplant Games of Amercia. This is a competition for those who have donated and received transplant organs. This competition is just one way to say thank you to those who have donated and to inspire those transplant receipients to live healthy. It is also a great way for those transplant receipients to foster relationships with others that have received transplants. Please visit the 2016 Transplant Games of America website for more information.
